Confidence, Skill and Success in the Show Ring
The St Paul’s College Show Team has grown rapidly in both size and success in recent years, with enthusiastic participation from students across Years 7 to 10.
Our students attend a range of regional shows, where they take part in junior judging, as well as sheep and cattle parading. One of the most rewarding aspects of the program is watching students grow in confidence many begin by learning to speak in front of an audience and soon progress to preparing and parading livestock to a high professional standard.
Participation in the Show Team is highly sought after, with students regularly involved in shows at Henty, Holbrook Sheep & Wool Fair, Wagga Wagga, Cootamundra, Junee, and Albury. A highlight of the program is the Upper Hunter Beef Bonanza in Scone, NSW - Australia’s largest youth livestock event, where our Year 10 students make the 10-hour journey to compete.
In a proud achievement for the College, St Paul’s was awarded Supreme Champion Carcase, showcasing not only student dedication and teamwork but also the high level of training and preparation that goes into the program.
The Show Team offers more than just competition—it builds confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and pride in a hands-on, real-world agricultural setting.
HOLBROOK SHOW RESULTS
St Pauls College took more than 50 students over the 3 days with 30 sheep. The sheep included our own bred White Suffolks and Merino Sheep, as well as Merino ewes that have been donated by both the Westblade family and the Bahr family.
We thank everyone who continues to support or Agriculture program and our students.
